DER248 was revealed during an intensive resurvey of the western TMF area. Subsequent excavation established the site to be a trackway dating from 394–199 cal. BC (UB-4183), composed of a layer of wood measuring 24m in length, 4m in width, and 0.25m in depth. This structure originated in the west on dry ground and root systems and extended east into the carr forest, ending abruptly.
