The proposed development area was located at the corner of Lower Abbey Street and John F. Kennedy Parade. Owing to severe scarping in the relatively recent past, nothing of archaeological significance survived. Significant efforts were made, at the building design stage, to lessen the visual impact of the block closest to the abbey remains, with only the upper storey and roof visible from within the abbey grounds.
