Archaeological monitoring of a proposed residential development was carried out at Townparks, Athboy, Co. Meath. The excavation of the foundation trenches for the proposed dwellings revealed 0.5m of brown garden soil directly overlying the natural gravel deposits. The only feature of significance uncovered was a possible field ditch running roughly north–south through the site near the proposed east wall of the dwelling. The field ditch was cut into the natural gravel and was 1m in depth and about 2m in maximum width.
The only finds recovered from the site consisted of post-medieval and modern pottery sherds and broken glass bottles. This site had been previously disturbed by the town sewer, which cuts through its western half.
