Archaeological testing was carried out on the site of a proposed residential development at Dunleer, Co. Louth, on 11 March 1997. The site lies close to the location of an Early Christian monastery founded by St Forodran in the 6th/7th century, which continued as a later medieval church site. Four trenches were excavated across the site but did not reveal any significant archaeological features.
