An archaeological assessment of a Proposed development at Nos 67 and 68 Trinity Street, Drogheda, Co. Louth, was carried out on 29 July 1997. The site of the proposed development is located on the north side of Trinity Street outside the town wall of medieval Drogheda. Nothing of archaeological significance is known to exist in this area.
Two test-trenches were excavated by machine in the area of the proposed development. They revealed that boulder clay existed at a depth of 0.4m to the east of the site and 0.1m at the west of the site. There was no evidence of archaeological stratigraphy and it is highly unlikely that any ever existed here as the boulder clay is so close to the surface.
