Archaeological monitoring of a proposed development of nine mushroom tunnels was carried out at Aghnaskeagh, Dundalk, Co. Louth. The site of the proposed development lies in a prehistoric landscape and is located to the east of a portal tomb and a court tomb.
Monitoring of all subsurface works did not reveal any evidence for archaeological stratigraphy at this site and, with the exception of a stone land-drain and some modern cultivation furrows, no features were evident.
All finds were of a post-medieval and modern date and were recovered from the topsoil.
