This site in Ballyouragan townland was identified as a series of small earthen ‘banks’ that might indicate an enclosing element of some type. Geophysical survey highlighted the fact that none of the earthen ‘banks’ showed any sign of coincident underground features, but did indicate a number of other small underground features. Three cuttings were opened to investigate the various feature types.
No archaeological features were uncovered on this site. It would appear that the features indicated by the geophysical survey were natural and that the earthen ‘banks’ were the result of modern quarrying activity.
