Monitoring was carried out of the Kilkenny Main Drainage Scheme, Stage 4, along Black Abbey Street to Blackmill Street. Work had been carried out by Martin Reid in these areas (Excavations 1996, 56, 96E0047) in advance of the scheme, and large amounts of skeletal material were found, along with medieval structural remains.
Under the present licence, a two-day monitoring of the re-excavation of these trenches took place. Nothing of archaeological interest was found during the monitoring.
