Emlagh West is situated to the south-east of Dingle town. The developers planned to extend a B&B dwelling which may encroach on a number of archaeological monuments, including a souterrain and the site of a ringfort and ogham stone. The purpose of this evaluation was to determine the nature and extent of any archaeology which could be affected by the development.
One 2m-wide trench was excavated for the length of the site to a depth of 1m. A mid-brown silty loam topsoil sat directly on a mid-orange-brown sandy loam natural sediment. No archaeological remains were found.
