Commissioned by the owner, pre-development testing in the form of trial-trenches took place prior to the construction of new offices at Dunkellin Street, Loughrea, Co. Galway. The mechanical excavation of eight trenches and two test-pits revealed no evidence of features/deposits of archaeological significance. The layers present were either made-up ground or modern refuse material. Nothing of archaeological significance was revealed in the course of trial-trenching.
