This site measures 45m by 35m. Four trenches were excavated by mechanical excavator on 29–30 December 1997. These revealed the presence of two parallel and north-south-extending timber revetments at a depth of 3–4m below modern ground level. The deposits on either side of the revetments contained only 17th-century material. The structures suggested the presence of a 17th-century wooden dock and the possibility of further wooden riverside revetments.

Following discussions with the relevant authorities, the whole site was cleared of its overburden under archaeological supervision in early 1998, to reveal the structures more completely. This uncovered further lengths of revetments fronting onto the river. The site was fully excavated by Claire Walsh in 1998.

Funding was provided by the developers.
