Archaeological assessment of the proposed development of 22 houses at the site included the mechanical excavation of five test-trenches. The trenches revealed naturally occurring deposits of sandy clay at approximately 1.1–1.3m below modern ground level, overlain with reinforced concrete and modern fill.
