Archaeological assessment of the proposed development of an extension to a guesthouse at this site included the mechanical excavation of five trial-trenches. The foundations of cellars and outbuildings were located beside No. 49. There was no significant archaeological stratigraphy above the naturally occurring clays and river gravels.
