Archaeological monitoring of a proposed extension to existing buildings was carried out at 25/26 Little Mary Street, Dublin 2. The site of the proposed development lies to the north of the River Liffey towards the west end of Mary Street.
Three test-trenches excavated to the south of the site did not reveal any significant archaeological stratigraphy. For the most part the site was disturbed, with modern debris extending to depths in excess of 2m. The northern part of the site which fronts directly onto Little Mary Street is occupied by a basement.
