Development within Tedford's Ship Chandlers in Donegall Quay, in the oldest part of Belfast, prompted a watching brief.
Standing elements of late 17th/early 18th-century walls were identified. Much post-medieval pottery, including a considerable quantity of Continental wares, was recovered, as well as several 17th-century ridge-tiles. Also located were several reused beams, possibly ship timbers.
