Monitoring of pipe-laying was conducted between 6 and 26 November 1996. The pipe-trench was mechanically excavated along the northern side of Friar’s Mill Road and Bishop’s Gate Street. Much of the immediate vicinity had already been disturbed by other modern pipe-laying. Nothing of archaeological significance was recovered.
