An area on the shoulder of a low knoll of glacial-derived sand and gravel was identified as being of archaeological potential in the EIS of the proposed Nenagh Bypass. As no above-ground features were noted in field survey, a cutting 135m long and 1.2m wide was mechanically excavated to establish whether there were any subsurface archaeological features.
Nothing of archaeological significance was found.
