The burial cist was discovered and disturbed in 1994; cremated bone was recovered from the interior at this stage. The cist was removed in early 1996.
The pit was 1.3m below the present ground surface (likely to be similar to the contemporary ground level) and 1m in diameter. The cist had a floor slab, four low side slabs, and a corbelled ceiling with central capstone. A deposit of charcoal and sooty silt (with no cremated bone) found its way onto the capped cist before the pit was backfilled. It is not known if and how the burial was marked. Recent disturbance in the vicinity found no further cists.
