An archaeological site assessment was carried out by Archaeological Development Services Ltd during October 1996 at Quay Street (Murray's Yard), Sligo. This work consisted of opening five machine-cut trenches under archaeological supervision.
Two trenches were located at the northern end of the area and two to the south. A fifth was placed along the eastern boundary wall. Some archaeological deposits were noted towards the northern end of the area, but development did not affect these. No datable artefacts were retrieved from the assessment.
