The proposed development site lies 50m south-south-west of Cloonshanville Abbey and Graveyard, SMR 15:30, and a stone cross, SMR 15:29, is located 220m south-west of in.

Two other earthworks, SMR 15:28 and 15:31, are also within 200m of the proposed development.

A farmhouse and outbuildings are located between the proposed development, which measures 63m x c. 35m, and the abbey. No visible archaeological features or structures were evident above present ground level on the site.

Six test-trenches were excavated by machine in the areas of proposed ground disturbance. No archaeological features or small finds were recovered from any of the trenches.

The proposed development will have no effect on any archaeological sites or monuments.
