Phase 2 of the Cathedral Restoration Project includes the replacement of the entire floor within the building. Up to 0.3m of deposits are to be removed to allow the levels to be built back up to give a firm base for the new floor with its underfloor heating. At the time of writing, work has progressed from the west door to the crossing; all the deposits removed have been mixed disturbed contexts overlying a series of seventeenth/eighteenth-century stone-lined graves.
