A site, at present located in the centre of a rugby pitch, had been identified by aerial photography. Although this area is not due to be disturbed by the Adare-Annacotty improved road, a raised subrectangular platform to the immediate north of the pitch will be disturbed. On arrival on site it was evident that this platform was merely the result of the dumped soil from the scarping and levelling of the pitch.

Consultation with the 1841 first-edition maps confirmed that at that time there was no such mound here.
