Thirteen trenches were dug in advance of the construction of three townhouses. The site was located within a designated area of archaeological potential. Previous work had been carried out by Ben Murtagh in October 1995 (Licence No. 95E233).
The trenches were dug to the depth of the proposed house foundations. One possible pit was found at the western end of the site but otherwise no archaeological features were observed. Fifteen sherds of medieval pottery, including a locally produced strap-handle fragment, were recovered.
