As part of the second phase of the construction of the Hewlett Packard factory near Leixlip, the stripping of topsoil was archaeologically monitored. The installation of services for the former meat-packing plant on this site—including underground telephone cables, septic tanks and drainage channels—had caused considerable disturbance to the stratification. No material of archaeological interest was found.
