Excavation was carried out in December 1996 at Killynure, Co. Fermanagh, at the alleged findspot of a Bronze Age skull in an area containing burnt mounds. Nothing of archaeological significance was encountered, stratigraphy taking the form of deep peat deposits relating to the nearby Killynure Lough.
