This large development site lies outside the walled town of Dublin to the south of the church site of St Michael le Pole. An excavation in 1981 located the pre-Norman church and graveyard, and part of this excavated area extends into the new development site, on the north-west side. A limited number of trenches (owing to the presence of standing buildings) were mechanically excavated throughout the site in two phases; these produced no archaeological deposits. However, in the area which had been excavated in 1981, a large number of intact disarticulated human bones were located, possibly relating to the backfill deposits from that excavation.
