The results showed that the large site was essentially an earthen mound. The mound is recorded on the first edition of the OS 6″ maps and may have originated from an artificial landscape feature. It appears to be man-made rather than a natural fluvially derived feature from river flooding. The mound appears to have no archaeological significance, consisting essentially of humic soil with no stratigraphy or finds.
