This brief excavation, which consisted of a single trench measuring 5m x 1m, took place ahead of development within the bawn. The aim was to determine whether the original northwest wall of the bawn crossed the area.

Remains of a cobbled courtyard were uncovered, suggesting that the wall was further to the north-west. Part of a ‘tally’ slate with ruled lines and writing etched onto it was found.
