Test-trenches excavated on a site for a house on the south side of Seatown, a medieval suburb, exposed natural sand and gravel at a depth of 0.1m directly under the rubble of the demolished early 19th-century house. Deposits of 19th-century date were present to a depth of 0.3m at the rear of the site.
