In advance of the proposed motorway scheme, a series of cropmarks had been identified by aerial photography. These were investigated during the period 30 August to 20 September 1995.

Two flint flakes were found: one was a stray surface find and the other was not associated with any archaeological feature. Apart from fragments of post-medieval pottery and iron slag, no other features were found. The cropmarks appeared to have been formed by a combination of modern ploughing and natural features.
