As part of the initial phase of the construction of the Hewlett Packard factory near Leixlip, the stripping of the topsoil was archaeologically monitored. Apart from modern agricultural drains, nothing of archaeological importance was found.

The soil-stripping operation is expected to be completed by spring 1996.
