Limited excavations were carried out for three weeks during the month of May 1995. The decision to return to Ferriter's Cove was based on the realisation that several human bones had been recovered from areas adjacent to an unexcavated area between Sites 1 and 2. An area of 6m x 4m adjacent to the cliff edge was opened. This joined the two excavation sites and effectively Site 1 ceases to exist as a separate entity. The excavations did not recover any further human remains but did recover a grind-stone and polished stone axe as well as some indications of an arc of stake-holes. One feature which had been noted in 1984 was re-examined and found to be somewhat larger than originally thought.
One small area of shells about 50m south of the excavation was noted to be under threat of erosion. Therefore a limited excavation took place in this area.
