The site lies to the rear of Goat's Castle, an urban tower house, and outside the graveyard wall of an early church which was enlarged in the medieval period. The site is to be developed shortly by building an extension onto the existing town hall. A total of five trenches were excavated mechanically, radiating out from the base of the graveyard wall. No archaeological soils were encountered and the ground level had been built up to a depth of approximately 1m in relatively recent times.

The assessment was funded by Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Co. Council.
