This site was developed in three phases. The writer monitored Phases 1 and 3. Phase 2 was monitored under the same licence by Brian Hodkinson.
Phase 1 lay to the north end of the site on Parnell St. Almost all of the foundations had already been dug on arrival, and the sections were examined. While levels of dark soil, ash spreads and sand deposits occurred, there were no features, structures, or finds of archaeological interest.
Phase 2 was located towards the centre of the site, immediately south of Phase 1. The northern cross-trench and the eastern side trench were monitored and neither produced any features or artefacts of archaeological significance.
For Phase 3, located at the southern end of the site, near Summerhill, there was further monitoring of the foundation trenches and test-cuttings were supervised. Again nothing of interest was noted as the fill overlying the natural sand was modern.
