This site was tested on behalf of ADS as it is located west and north-west (outside) of the line of the town wall. A surviving stone wall on this line did not appear to have medieval features and there was no suggestion of a ditch outside the wall. The ground level north and west of the wall had been greatly reduced by quarrying for gravel and subsequently reclaimed. The southern portion of the site produced nothing of archaeological interest.
