A watching brief was maintained on the excavation of foundation trenches for a proposed dwelling house at Seapoint, Termonfeckin, on November 29, 1994. The site for the proposed dwelling lies quite close to the sandhills where in 1915 storms exposed the presence of six to eight hearths of uncertain date. The hearths consisted of flat stones and burnt fragments of shell as well as a fragment of the right parietal bone of an infant. These hearths were subsequently destroyed by the storms. Monitoring of the excavated foundation trenches for the proposed dwelling revealed nothing but the natural sand directly under the sod.
