Two small cuttings, required to hold buttresses, were monitored. These were dug by hand. They were located to the west of the Hall. The southern cut contained three layers, (total depth 0.5m) and the northern one sloped from 0.18m to 0.34m and contained a single layer of mixed fill.
Nothing of archaeological potential was noted.
