A large residential development is proposed for this site, once the old distillery and the site of the old mill at Chapelizod. The site is in an area of archaeological potential as there are medieval references to a mill at Chapelizod which may have been in the same position as the mill of post-medieval times, while the site is also very close to the medieval church of St Lawrence. A piece of medieval pottery was found during the trial trenching, but no archaeological features or layers came to light during the trial trenching carried out in May 1994.
