Mr. Gerard O'Brien proposed the building of a hotel, just south of the medieval Lady's Church at Taghmon, Co. Wexford. Due to the site's proximity to the church and the fact that Taghmon is a settlement of Early Christian date, Wexford Co. Council requested that the site be archaeologically assessed prior to development. The work was carried out by Joanna Wren for A.D.S. Ltd. on 18th August.

Eleven strip test trenches 1m wide were dug by mechanical excavator. The only features uncovered were a series of four pits and gullies of post-medieval date, found in a strip across the centre of the site. No further excavation was undertaken.
