In November 1993 a single test pit was cut through post-medieval material into a rich organic build-up. The organic layer included leather and animal bone, potentially midden, dumped behind medieval or early post-medieval properties on Mary St. (Redevelopment of the site in early 1994 did not disturb the organic layer.)
The excavation lasted two hours.
