A two-day test excavation was carried out in August in advance of development of a site between Saint Cianan's Church and the Navan Rd., Duleek. Five machine trenches were excavated revealing few surviving archaeological features. Few archaeological features were recovered although traces of a ditch cut into subsoil may indicate the line of the southern boundary of the Early Christian enclosure. No artefacts were recovered from the ditch but a green glazed medieval potsherd was recovered from the top of the subsoil.
