The monitoring brief at Ballinderry took place on the 8th March 1993.
The owner hopes to undertake a complete restoration of the site throughout the next few years and one of the first steps in this process was the digging of a septic tank and percolation area to the south of the tower house and outside the limits of the bawn. These holes, excavated mechanically, were monitored in order to determine if any archaeological features or deposits existed.
A total of three trenches were excavated mechanically. The first two were dug directly to the south of the south-east corner of the tower house and the third was located to the west of these. The three trenches excavated revealed no archaeological deposits or features.
