This site was tested prior to the building of a two storey commercial development. Three trenches were dug, of which two produced nothing. A pit-like feature was exposed in the third measuring 3.1m wide east-west x 0.8m deep. It was filled with a dark grey soft silt with two fragments of animal bone and a sherd of medieval pottery. Its function was not clear and there was no organic content. It was not disturbed during subsequent building activity.
