Archaeological testing was undertaken in advance of development. The site had been in use as a tannery over a period of almost 40 years and was located partly within an extensive warehouse and partly in the open. A total of six trial trenches was opened, in all cases extending into the undisturbed natural deposits. Northing of archaeological significance was noted.
