Excavations at 6 Peter’s St uncovered a sequence of structures within one plot. The earliest houses excavated were clay-floored wattled-walled structures of Type 1 (after Wallace). The wattle houses were superceded by the building of a timber house. This plot is the final excavation involved with the building of the City Square Shopping Centre in Waterford and is the most westerly plot excavated in a almost entire srreetscape dating from the late Viking period through to the late 13th century. Results will be included in the forthcoming publication on the City Square excavations.
