This site is recorded as having been similar to the Castle Guard Motte (see no. 135, 1992). The road was scheduled to pass within 13m to the south of the marked site. A series of dark linear features were uncovered within the cuttings. They extended in a crisscross pattern. Sections showed that they varied in depth, some measuring up to 0.6m, while others reached only a few centimeters in depth. With the exception of animal bone and an iron horseshoe no finds were recovered.
