Excavation was conducted prior to construction of the proposed Portlaoise Bypass. Though the sites would not be directly affected, their close proximity to the route warranted investigation of the 'rake'. The sites were represented by 2 low platforms. They both measured approx. 15m in diameter and 0.5m in height. Excavation of the area to be affected by the route yielded no evidence of archaeological material.
