Due to proposed road alterations and footbridge construction within the Area of Archaeological Potential for the town of Kildare, in the vicinity of Grey Abbey, archaeological investigation was considered necessary. The area under inspection lay along the sides of the existing Kildare-Athy road and had already been much disturbed by drainage and ESB cables. No archaeological material was found.
