Ten trenches were excavated, varying between 2m and 5m long by O.75m wide. No archaeologically significant stratigraphy was present in any of the trenches. In Trenches 1-4, rich black garden soil overlay the natural, while in Trenches 5-10 looser soil, containing rubbish such as brick fragments, overlay the natural boulder clay.
