The site occupies a subtriangular area measuring a maximum of 35m by 50m on the east bank of the Camac River, in the grounds of St Patrick's Hospital. Test bores, not supervised by an archaeologist, had been previously taken on the site.A single 20m long trench was opened by mechanical excavator on 25th March 1992. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered. The work was commissioned and funded by the developers.
